Court nullifies the illegal removal of Esan west LG Chairman

 Breaking: Court Nullifies the unlawful removal of Esan West Council Chairman, Edo by Governor Obaseki January 29, 2021 Hon Patrick Aguinede of APC has been declared the valid and duly legally recognised elected Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area Council of Edo State by Edo State High Court No 4, Benin City Presided over by Hon . Justice D.I. Okungbowa in suit no B/11/2020. In the judgment delivered on the 29th day of January 2021, the learned trial judge declared the purported removal of Hon. Patrick Aguinede by Edo State Governor as null and void. The Court directed Hon. Patrick Aguinede to resume office as Chairman of the Council immediately. Hon. Justice D.I Okungbowa granted all the prayers contained in the originating Summons filed on behalf of Hon. Patrick Aguinede and by the Law firm of West-Idahosa & Co. The learned Judge held that Edo State Governor and the Government failed to comply with the Provisions of Sections 20 and 21 of Edo State Local Government Law, 20

OBASEKI WINS ALLEDGED CERTIFICATE FORGERY CASE: We will appeal Edo APC CTC Chair

 We will appeal - Col Imuse  Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state, Col David Imuse RTD, has said that the party will appeal Saturday's ruling by the Federal High Court dismissing the alleged certificate forgery suit filed against the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki. Justice Ahmed Mohammed dismissed the suit filed by the All Progressives Party (APC) and a chieftain of the party, Williams Edobor, on the conclusion that the plaintiffs failed to prove their allegations of forgery against Governor Obaseki. Imuse, while reacting to the judgement, said the party's legal team would immediately move to study the judgement and file an appeal. He expressed hope that the judiciary will remain upright and always ensure that the will of the people and rule of law prevail. TENSION IN EDO AS OVER 100 PRISON INMATES ESCAPE FROM SCID

 Again, Tension In Edo As Over 100 Prison Inmates Escape From Cells Tension is currently mounting in Edo State, Nigeria following the alleged escape of over 100 suspected kidnappers and robbers from a detention cell in the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, located off Sapele road, Benin. This is coming barely two months after about 2,000 prison inmates escaped in October 2020 fom various detention cells in the state, during the EndSARS protests in the state. It was gathered that the latest jailbreak was stage-managed, as it happened in the midnight into the New Year, January 1, 2021, when most police officers had closed from work.  The state CID detention, were the latest set of prison inmates escaped from is located within the premises of the state command headquarters, along Sapele road axis, GRA, in Benin City.
