The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Edo State APC, Col David Imuse Rtd has congratulated Edo people as they mark the New Year festivities and for their resilience and patience especially in the face of Governor Godwin Obaseki's rudderless government in Benin City. In a New Year message to Edolites and signed by Chris Azebamwan, the  State Publicity Secretary of the APC in the State, Col  Imuse called for prayers to God so that the present administration in the State can come up with ideas on how to deploy the huge security votes the Governor collects monthly to mobilize the security agencies in the State to better protect the lives and properties of Edo citizens. He commiserated with all families and relatives of victims of the unending spate of kidnapping and killings, especially on the Benin-Ekpoma Highway and said he was greatly encouraged by the determination displayed by the security agencies, in the face of a nonchalant Governor who pays lip service to being Chief Security

Edolites are fed up with PDP, Obaseki

Press Statement: Edolites are Already Fed Up With PDP and Obaseki's excuses -Col. David Imuse Rtd. The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Edo state, Col David Imuse Rtd, has described recent claims by Dr Tony Aziegbemi, the State Chairman of the PDP, that Governor Godwin Obaseki is suffering from insomnia over how to secure the lives and properties of Edo people as a huge slap on the sensibilities of Edo people. The APC chairman said it is wrong for the PDP chairman to expect the  Governor Obaseki to be sleeping while Edo people are daily having sleepless nights because of the criminal siege on the state. He said the PDP should tell the governor that the huge security vote of over N700million he collects monthly from Edo State coffers, is solely for funding security agencies in the state, and that his tenacious hold on the monies by refusing to deploy it to fund security agencies is what is fuelling insecurity in the state. Bishop Kukah had in his Christmas message to Nigerians lamented the endless woes, which he said had befallen the country. He further said that the prospects of a failed state stares Nigeria in the face, with: “endless bloodletting, a collapsing economy, social anomie, domestic and community violence, kidnappings, armed robberies. “But what may have irritated those who attacked his mess

On the brink of removal? Bell tolls for Obaseki

FORGERY AND PERJURY: Bell Tolls for Obaseki on the Brink of Removal .Abuja High Court to Try Offences on Thursday .Governor Begs Supreme Court to Stop His Trial  By Sebastine Ebhuomhan Sometime in June of 2020, the sword of disqualification was dangling precariously over the head of Governor Godwin Obaseki in the Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC). Quickly, the helmsman rushed to the press, somewhere in Benin City, where he displayed his educational certificates to his invited audience, raising the certificates to the razzle-dazzle of photographs and photoshops, with the aim of countering allegations that he was criminally parading forged documents. He had insisted at the event that he had genuine certificates that were intact contrary to his own earlier claim in 2016 that the originals were missing. He reiterated that his certificates had no error, whatsoever. Obaseki further allayed fears by promising to produce his certificates any day, anytime to shut and shame his more qua

Edo governor certificate forgery, perjury case: Crux of the matter

Edo governor certificate forgery, perjury case: Crux of the matter The contention in Court is not whether Godwin Obaseki is an alumni of UI or otherwise. The contention is that Godwin Obaseki forged his UI Bachelor certificate because the certificate he submitted in 2020 is different from the one he submitted in 2016. One was apparently forged as there cannot be two certificates for one degree for one person. Secondly ,that Godwin Obaseki was not qualified to be admitted into any first degree course in UI with his three credits, excluding English and Maths where he scored F9 and he has not sufficiently shown that he had a special admission. If he fraudulently got the admission , the BA Classics he submitted to INEC is tainted.  Lastly, that Godwin Obaseki supplied contrasting and diametrically opposed information to INEC. In 2016, he deposed to an affidavit that he finished from Eghosa Anglican Grammar School in 1973 and "proceeded immediately" (his words) to UI to study cla
