ECTS Mgt Board Hails Edo Gov. For Fulfilling Promise

By: Oriaifoh Godwins

The Edo City Transport Services, ECTS, Management Board, in a Press statement, dated 5th May 2026, signed by the Chairman of the Board, Hon. Chief Robert Okoinemen, has hailed the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people, particularly in the area of transportation.

The statement reads in part: "we express our sincere appreciation for the arrival of the brand new CNG-powered buses, fully equipped with air-conditioning systems, which are already being deployed to ease the transportation challenges faced by residents across Edo state".

"We the Management Board, in-line with the Management of ECTS remain committed and ready to  deliver, as we are immensely thankful that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo state, is implementing the promises he made".

The Press statement continued by extolling Governor Okpebholo's bold initiative as a clear demonstration of the Governor’s genuine concern for the welfare and comfort of Edo people; adding that; "...this development stands as a strategic and forward-thinking reform, which is in alignment with the administration’s SHINE Agenda, as It will significantly improve mobility, especially for workers and commuters, while enhancing productivity and daily living standards within the state".

In an exclusive chat with our reporter, the Chairman, ECTS Management Board said; "...Upon our appointment as members of ECTS Management Board, His Excellency promised to give ECTS a face lift".

"It is important to note that previous efforts under the administration of Godwin Obaseki saw the launch of buses that unfortunately did not effectively serve the people, with many falling into disrepair".

"The last notable success in this sector before now, was during the tenure of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, when Edo residents experienced a functional public transport system. Today, Governor Okpebholo has revived that vision and reopened the door to a modern, reliable transportation network".

This progress, Hon. Chief Okoinemen said, reinforces the belief that governance under the All Progressives Congress continues to bring meaningful development to Edo State, adding that; "Indeed, Edo state is shining under the purposeful leadership of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo. This remarkable stride is a strong reason for the people of Edo State to continue in supporting the APC candidates, and vote President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to ensure sustained growth and continuity of impactful governance".

Hon. Chief Robert Okoinemen concluded by saying; "as we look to the future, it is essential that we remain focused on the development of Edo State, by working together to ensure that our state continue to grow stronger and more prosperous. Governor Okpebholo's performance on infrastructural development alone, is enough to win him continuity for a second tenure. As the saying goes: “When a child is living well, he eats with the elders.”
