PDP Decampees disappoint Jogawa governor

THE Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar was yesterday confused and disappointed when he was at a political rally to receive the said 4,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Birninkudu town, the headquarter of Birnin Kudu local government area of the state where none of the said defectors shows-up.

Reports from the state indicated that the governor was in town at the venue of the political rally as early as 11 am  to receive the defectors and presentation of donations of N20 million scholarship to the students of higher institutions, vehicles to party faithful, flagging of feeder road by a member of House of Representatives representing the governor’s constituency, Biirninkudu/Buji federal constituency, Honourable Magaji Da’u Aliyu.

Governor Abubakar’s mood immediately changed as all worries signs were expressed on his face when none of the leaders and the claimed 4,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defectors showed up when they were called. Danmalam Unguwarya the leader of the defectors couldn’t turn up after he was called often to present his speech on behalf of the decampees ― neither his representatives nor the decampee came forward.

Alhaji Badaru Abubakar hurriedly concluded his speech as a result of commotions by political thugs who booed the governor when he was delivering his speech at the ceremony.

The occasion started peacefully and in order but the situation changed immediately the governor stood and started his speech. The youth interrupted the governor wooing at him.

Governor Abubakar flagged off Waurno to Dankoshe feeder road, presented N20 million prototype cheque to the leader of the students union for 4,000 beneficiaries, as well as keys of six Volkswagen gulf vehicles to party officials from his constituency.

All efforts to speak with the governor proved abortive as he told journalists “I am exhausted”.
