2024 EDO GUBER: One time UN Chieftain, Advice On Way Forward

A former Undersecretary General of the United Nations, and the most outstanding of all the aspirants in the forthcoming 2024 Edo gubernatorial election, Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, OFR, has advised the leadership of the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the people of Edo State, to ensure transparency, fair play, and level playing field in the selection process of who becomes the 2024 Edo gubernatorial election.

"... choose what want, your destiny is in your own hands..."

In a television programme, SUNRISE DAILY, EDO POLITICS, aired on Channels television recently, he said; "...our flawed selection process, has been largely responsible for our wrong choice of Political leaders..." Continuing, Ambassador Professor Uhomoibhi, who said; "...you cannot become the Prime Minister of Britain, if you are not a product of Oxford or Cambridge University", adding that, he obtained the highest degree possible on earth, from Oxford University, at the age of 27, and had lectured in the University of Ibadan, as well as in Igbinedion University, Okada, as well as in Baze University and Veritas University, both in Abuja, for years. Ambassador Uhomoibhi, has also worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 30 years, where he retired, after serving for five years as a Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the longest serving Permanent Secretary, in the history of the Ministry.

Advising Edo people, Ambassador Professor Martin Uhomoibhi, said; "... choose what want, your destiny is in your own hands, if you want where you are now, to continue to be the circle, then go on, support mercantilist politicians..."


Mercantilist politicians, he said, are those that have ten billion dollars to spend, to secure power, after which they will rip off 100 billiin of our Commonwealth, and we have no choice, because we have been bought.


However, Ambassador Uhomoibhi, who at some point in his career, was the president of two International Organisations, at the same time, the world Intelectual Property Organisation, WIPO, and the United Nations Human Right Council, UNHRC, concluded by saying he proudly belong to the welfarist category of politician, who care about the welfare and future of the People.
