 Edo PDP Guber Primary:

When I Start a Journey, I don't cutoff Midway -Uhomoibhi

By: Oriaifoh Godwins

Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi OFR, the foremost Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Aspirant with the most outstanding resume, in the just concluded PDP primaries that held on Thursday, the 22nd of February 2024, at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, in Benin city, Edo state, has revealed that, he is not one person that starts a Journey, only to cutoff midway.

Ambassador Uhomoibhi made this revelation today, after the PDP primary while speaking with a team of Journalists in his Campaign office in Benin.

Continuing, Uhomoibhi, who said; "... contrary to the insinuation of some people, that I will not be present, I chose to attend...", adding that; "...I am an ardent believer in the power of God almighty. For me, the end is what really matters..."

Continuing, Ambassador Prof. Martin Uhomoibhi said, we are the architects of our fortunes or misfortunes, but the question is: "what role did you play in the process"?

Ambassador Uhomoibhi said; the antecedents of what happened today, is what really matters, though we are on a journey of Democracy, what we saw today, though not perfect, but what is more important, is for us to resolve that we must make progress; so at this time, we must all ensure that the right thing is done at the right time.

Uhomoibhi, who explained that the three categories of leadership, are those that use force to grab and retain power; those that are interested in the welfare of the people, and the third category, are those that capitalise on the level of poverty and greed of the people, to get into power, by investing billions in paving their way into power, after which they recover the billions they invested in several folds, as they are Mercantilists; saying, they are in power to trade, and the people will not have the moral justification to demand for their rights in terms of good roads, electricity, access to education, health facilities, etc, as such right was mortgaged.

He however maintained that, he will work with his party, the PDP, irrespective of who eventually emerge from the process.

Ambassador Prof. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, an outstanding former Nigeria Ambassador of great repute and integrity, the longest serving Permanent Secretary in the history of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a one-time Under Secretary General of the United Nations, UN, in Dafur-Sudan, who was also the President of the United Nations Human Right Council, UNHRC, and at same period, the President of the World Intellectual Property Organisation, WIPO; a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Edo gubernatorial Aspirant for the upcoming 2024 governorship election, is clearly the most outstanding of all the Edo gubernatorial Aspirants, irrespective of their Political parties.
