Iwelomen, Publisher of Esan Magazine Clocks 66

Friends, associates and professional colleagues of the publisher of Esan Magazine, Peter Odia Iwelomen Thursday, 14 converged on the Press Centre of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ to honour him and mark his 66th birthday.

Led by the chairman of the Edo State Council of NUJ, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, members of the union variously described Iwelomen as a rallying point for the unity and development of Esan land and Edo State at large.

In his remarks, Alenkhe described Iwelomen as a foremost publisher and leader in the media industry, noting that he has contributed a great deal to the development of the media industry in the state.






Beautifully adorned with so much love and care in his heart, Iwelomen is an advocate for the advancement of Esan land and its people, and has been using the Esan Magazine to promote the culture and tradition of his people and advocating for the development of Esan land and Edo State.

High point of the celebration was the cutting of the 66 birthday cake assisted by the NUJ chairman and other journalists.

Gov Okpebholo restores full statutory rights to Oba of Benin  In a bid to further right the wrongs of the immediate-past administration and foster cordial relations between the Government and the people, the Edo State Governor,  Senator Monday Okpebholo has restored the full statutory rights of the Benin Monarch over the contentious issue of the ownership of ancient artefacts looted from the palace of the Oba of Benin during the 1897 Benin Massacre by the British colonial forces.
