The event which ended on Sunday, 27th June, at the Winners Chapel in Akho-Irrua, where the children and members of the Royal family, including the crown Prince, Major Jimah Momodu, were Present, was marked by praises and thanks giving. According to the Monarch, the measure has to be put in place to check insecurity in the area and make the place safe for all the inhabitants. 50TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY OF THE OKAIJESAN: PLANNING COMMITTEE ROLES OUT PROGRAMME

 50th Coronation Anniversary Planning Committee, roles out programme  By: Oriaifoh Godwins The six days programme of events to mark the 50th anniversary celebration of the Coronation of Ogirrua of Irrua and Okaijesan of Esanland, has been unveiled by the planning committee for the event.  According to the Chairman of the Planning Committee, High Chief Abudu Ugbesia, the event has been scheduled to begin on  Monday, the 21st of June, with an interdenominational prayers at the Palace of the Ogirrua in Eguare, Irrua. On Tuesday, 22nd June, will witness the delivery of lectures on two pertinent issues that will impact on Irrua kingdom and Esanland in general. The lecture has been scheduled to hold at the Okaijesan hall, Irrua. On the third day, Wednesday, 23rd June, will be the solidarity visitation of the Irrua Communities to the Palace of the Ogirrua. ONE OF THE LONGEST SERVING MONARCHS IN NIGERIA, SET TO MARK 50TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY

 One of Nigeria's longest serving monarchs, set to mark 50th Coronation anniversary By: Oriaifoh Godwins Alhaji W.O Momodu II, JP, CON. The Ojirrua of Irrua and Okaijesan of Esanland, who ascended the royal throne of Irrua kingdom in June 22 1971, will mark the Golden Jubilee of his coronation in June, 2021. High Chief Abudu Ugbesia, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, has revealed that, details of the five days' activities packed event to mark the Golden Jubilee of the coronation of the Okaijesan of Esanland, will soon be released to the public, as finishing touches are currently being made to ensure that no stone is left unturned. It would be recalled that ten years ago, the Ojirrua marked the 40th Anniversary of his coronation. it was also gathered that some eminent and illustrious sons of Esanland and beyond will be honoured and bestowed with Chieftaincy titles during the event which will climax on the 26th of June.

JOURNALISTS ARE NOT CRIMINALS

 February 26, 2021 Media Release Journalists are not Criminals The Nigeria Union of Journalists condemns in the strongest of terms the remarks made on Arise TV last Wednesday by Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi where he labeled Journalists as criminals for calling bandits criminals. We do not see any correlation between journalism and criminality.  Specifically, Sheik Gumi said “you are emphasising on criminality, I don’t know. Even the Press (journalists) are criminals too because they are putting oil into fire [sic]. These people are listening to you, don’t address them as criminals”. It is instructive to note that one of the gangs that was recently interviewed by Nigerian journalist, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz and published in Daily Trust of today where the bandit leader insisted on being introduced properly as “Kachalla Halilu Sububu Seno, Leader of all Terrorists. He is the Leader.” Yet Malam Gumi insists they are not criminals. This unnecessary and unprovoked attack on members of the m
