THE NEED FOR EDO STATE INDIGENES FORUM, ESIF.

By: Edward Inegbenehi The political principles, Rules of Law, institutions position of trust, etc, on which Edo State People depended for structure, are crumbling fast, and this has left our people, Edo South, Edo Central, Edo North and in Diaspora feeling rudderless with some sense of betrayal. As a result of these facts therefore, there is need for an organization that will bring together, all indigens of Edo State, South, Central, North and in Diaspora; to act as a voice and strong pillar, for Edo State People, at home and in Diaspora. The may objectives, will be as follows: 1. As the umbrella organization of Edo State Indigenes, the Forum will henceforth secretly scrutinize all future Edo State electoral office aspirants, and determine who to support to rule or represent the Edo State People in any electoral office, irrespective of Political party. 2. ESIF will provide back up strategic/ administrative support for any future Governments (State and Local) of Edo State, in all areas anchored to sustainable development. 3. ESIF will hold mirror for the Governments and Legislative House of the State to always see themselves, activities, etc, and make their wrongs right in the State, where necessary. 4. The Forum, will act always, as a watch dog for the entire Edo State Indigens it represent, and ensure, that monies or allocations from Federal and other areas, to the State, are judiciously utilized for development oriented programmes and projects, for the benefit of the State Indigens and People. 5. The Forum will help fight injustices in Edo State, no matter what. 6. The Forum will help investigate, and fight Corruption in the State Government's (State/Local ) as the people's voice, no matter, who is Corrupt. 7. The Forum will do what is humanly possible to protect the rights of Edo State Indigenes at home and in Diaspora. 8. The Forum, in all it ramifications, will contribute to development programmes and projects in the grass root areas in the State, if and when need be. 9. The Forum will always make suggestions to the Governments (State/local) in the State; which will pave way for sustainable development in the State. 10. The Forum, will do everything to help fight all ills that will hinder development in the State; insecurity inclusive. 11. The Forum will do everything collectively possible to ensure, that Edo State becomes the envy of other states in Nigeria; as it was in the past, when the State was known as BENDEL; and the pioneer State, in all areas of development in Nigeria. 12. Finally, the Forum will use every method to make politicians in the State, accountable to the people. Following these major objectives of this group, I here by urge every Edo State Person reading this post, to join this group, so we can together make the State great, and better.
