Aondoakaa's insatiable ambition, need for caution.
BY OMAR YAHAYA.
The ripples that has been trailing the controversy surrounding the planned taking over of Benue Hotel, In recent time, by some greedy, self-centered and gluttonous elements calls for serious questioning and every well meaning Nigerian should assist the people of Benue state in cautioning and eventually stopping these set of vampires from actualizing their sinister plans.
It will be recalled that years back, some faceless civil society groups were sponsored to make spurious allegations against a onetime Managing Director of NEXIM bank, Mr. Robert Orya, who served the bank meritoriously and created, livelihood opportunities for several Benue Youths who are today better for it.
When I read an online publication where a reporter wrote that; “…it will be recalled that immediately after he (Orya) left NEXIM bank, he allegedly withdrew…. “is enough to write off such report as a sponsored report hence, fake. Is it possible for someone who has left office to withdraw from NEXIM Bank?
Again, the reporter made several other allegations against Robert Orya that bothered around the approval of loans; but needless for any right thinking individual to believe that; since the approval of loans in banks is a process and in the case of Orya, he does not have the power to singlehandedly approve loans, as it is the Board of the bank that has such power.
Away from the forgoing, Daily Watch investigation revealed that a onetime Attorney General of the Federation has been the Masquerade behind the scene. This masquerade, who has been responsible for sponsoring some faceless groups that has been disguising as members of Civil Society Organization in attacking Orya, is a one time Attorney General of the Federation, Aondoakaa.
Our investigation also revealed that Aodoaka’s reason for his actions is as a result of his interest in acquiring the Benue Hotel that according to information, was leased to …….who has been able to restructure the Hotel, and has been effectively managing it.
The way Aodoaka and Hon. Dave lohemba are going about their hidden agenda, should make all well meaning Nigerians to be sincerely worried.
Aondoaka's desperation in ensuring that he succeeds in forcefully acquiring Benue Hotel, is epic. It is only hoped that it will not lead him to personally attacking Robert Orya, just because he is aiming at annexing the commonwealth of Benue people with his personal properties. Benue State, the food basket of Nigeria is already battling with more than enough political and security challenges; for Aondoakaa's sinister ambition to be added to the crisis that the State is already facing, will be catastrophic; as the youths and people of the State may eventually rise against it.
Nigerians has not forgotten the role Mr. Aondoakaa played in botching the prosecution of Nigerians that were implicated in the Halliburton bribery scandal when the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), the Movement Against Corruption (MAC), The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) and the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) called for Mr. Aondoakaa’s dismissal from office on account of the shady cover up he gave to certain International ‘Hushpuppies’.
Nigerians have not forgotten how Aondoakaa openly attempted to curtail the powers of the EFCC and its then Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu barely few weeks after his appointment to the cabinet in July 2007…How he submitted a memo to the then President, requesting that all agencies involved in the prosecution of criminal offences, such as the EFCC and ICPC should report and initiate criminal proceedings with the Attorney-General as specified in the relevant section of the constitution. The President who initially granted the request, was forced to make an embarrassing reversal when it was revealed that the action contradicted an earlier ruling of the Supreme Court.
In view of all of these shady dealings of Aondoakaa, it is about time he is called to order before his infamous naked dance in public square create more havoc in Benue state.
