The people of Esan central local government area of Edo state, yesterday, Monday, 9th August, gave Rt. Hon. Victor Sabor Tiger Edoror a heroic welcome back home, following his re emergence as the Speaker, Edo state House of Assembly, EDHA, for a second time.
His home coming was welcomed by a crowd of jubilant youths, women, children and men who were not only happy about the emergence of democracy in Edo state, but also as a result of the emergence of true representation that has before now, been shortchanged by enemies of democracy and good government.
Addressing the mammoth crowd that waited even late into the night to welcome their illustrious son back home, the Vice Chairman, Edo state All Progressive Congress, APC, and Leader, Edo central Senatorial district, the Uzoya of Esan land and Atayese of Lagos, High Chief Francis Inegbeniki, said; "...Godwin Obaseki, is an apprentice in the game of politics, who is yet to learn the basics of politics, let alone the nitty gritty of it..." Continuing, High Chief Inegbeniki said Obaseki shortchanged the position of the Speaker, Edo state House of Assembly, and for over a year now, he did not only deny Esan central the opportunity to be heard in legislative matters in Edo state, Obaseki also denied Esan central the opportunity to occupy the seat of the Speaker of Edo House of Assembly. He concluded by thanking the people of Idumebo for their patience in standing with Edoror all these years.
Rt. Hon. Victor Edoror, in his speech, borrowed some words from the novel, Things Fall Apart; and started by saying; "...as the hunter has learnt to shoot without missing, so also, 'Eneke', the bird has learnt to fly without perching."
He apologised to the people for persuading them to vote for Mr. Godwin Obaseki in 2016, as Obaseki has failed to deliver on his promises, saying, the coming of Pastor Ize-Iyamu, will wipe off all their sufferings and pains, especially now that he is the Speaker, of Edo state House of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Edoror went on to say that, with the combination of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, General Cecil Esekhaegbe and High Chief Francis Inegbeniki, the work has not only been made easy for him, but victory for the APC in Esan central, Esan land and Edo state in general, is certain and as sure as "tomorrow". He therefore pleaded with the people to do the needful by voting for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu, the Governorship and Deputy Governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the September 19, Edo gubernatorial election.
