Today, Friday, 11th July 2025, High Chief Abudu Ugbesia, JP, the Chairman, Edo State Traditional Medicines Board, TMB, during his sensitization and courtesy visit to eagle local government area of edo state describe the chairman of the local government area Council as an 'exceptional Chairman' saying other local government council Chairmen, have something to learn from you. "Your reception attitude, is exceptional".

Speaking, the Board Chairman of Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, said; "...contrary to our experience in Oredo Local Government area, where the Chairman of the local government council was completely holstile to us, as she never attended to us, nor agreed to meet with me, even when I was in her office to greet her, you left your office to usher us into the hall and also gave us a total sum of 750,000 naira, to support our activities".


"On behalf of the members and staff of the Traditional Medicines Board, I want to warmly thank you for your warm reception, and we look forward to a long, strong and productive relationship with you".

The Chairman, Egor Local Government Area Council, Hon. Dr. Kelvin Ighodalo, who appreciated the Chairman and members of Edo state Traditional Medicines Board for their visit, used the opportunity to inform them that, Egor Local government area is opened to every partnership with Edo state Traditional Medicines Board and the Tradomedical Practitioners, saying; "your contributions to the health and well-being of our people, will be highly welcome". 

"...my door is open to you at all times, and we should as a matter of fact, find time to meet so we can further discuss on areas where we can possibly collaborate for the benefit of our people".


From Egor local government area Council, the Chairman, Edo State TMB, and his entourage moved to Ikpoba Okha local government area, to do same, but unfortunately they met the absence of the local government chairman and the leadership of the Local Government Council, as they were said to have left for the airport to welcome the governor of Edo state back to the state from Abuja.


In his statement at Ikpoba Okha, the Chairman said; "...we earlier communicated our coming to Ikpoba to the Local Government Council Chairman, but since he went to attend to a higher priority engagement, the Chairman should have delegated someone to receive us on his behalf, adding that, even I, as the Chairman, Edo State Traditional Medicine Board, should have been present in the airport , but I must handle the responsibility given to me by the governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, with absolute dedication and commitment.


He concluded by anouncing that Edo Central and Edo North Senatorial districts are the next area of that the Board, and Tradomedical practitioners in Edo state, will visit, to sensitize the people of what the Board and Tradomedical practitioners stand for. He continued by saying; "...we are not ritualists, we treat, but God heals". We are going to partner with orthordox Medical Practitioners in restoring the sick back to good health".


The visit of the Chairman, Edo state Traditional Medicines Board, and his team, to Edo Central, is slated for Monday, 14th July 2025, where they will visit the Okaijesan of Esanland, Alhaji W. O. Momodu, II, JP, CON, the Chairman Esan Central Local Government Council and Esan west local government council Chairman will also be visited.


Other areas to be visited in Edo Central, include, Esan North East, Esan South East and Igueben local government area Councils.
