Senator Ordia sending soldiers to disperse peaceful protesters shameful

         ... APC Chieftain

By: Oriaifoh Godwins

An All Progressive Congress, APC, Chieftain in Edo central Senatorial district of Edo state, Hon. Peter Eboh Osemudiamen, has condemned in very strong terms the action of Senator Clifford Ordia, the Senator representing Edo central at the National Assembly, in sending soldiers to disperse the ongoing peaceful protest against the deplorable condition of the Ekpoma axis of the Benin/Auchi Highway. He expressed his disappointment while reacting to a viral video where Senator Clifford Ordia was alleged to have sent soldiers to disperse the peaceful protesters.

Hon. Eboh, who said,  It is saddening to see that Senator Ordia who should have been at the forefront of the protest in seeing that the needful is done, is the one that is sending soldiers to disrupt the people who are drawing the government's attention to the deplorable condition of the highway, added that it is very shameful for Senator Ordia to so do and he needs to immediately tender an apology to the entire Esan land and all the users of that highway.

Hon. Eboh, said; '... Senator Ordia should have gone to address the protesters rather than sending soldiers to disrupt the peaceful protest...'

Continuing, Eboh, said; '...how long more will it take for these people in government,...our so called representatives to know that it is no longer at ease with the people they claim they are representing? How long will it take for them to begin to take responsibilities for what they were elected for? The earlier they get their acts together, the better it will be for them...'

It will be recalled that the leadership and members of Esan Liberation Movement as well as the members and Leadership of the Concerned Ekpoma Eminent Stakeholders Forum, CEESF, started a protest against the failed portions of the Ekpoma axis of Benin/Auchi highway, since Monday, the 22nd of August, 2022.

  1. Shameful indeed. what is he trying to cover by doing so. I hope they have not shared the money with the contractor meant to fix the road. What a shame to stop people helping you to do your work.
