Chairman, Esan Central LG, Gets Award For Youth Engineering Empowerment


Rt. Hon. Kelvin Ainiyalanhimi Iyere,  the Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Edo state, on Tuesday, 29th July, 2025, at Usugbenu Technical College, Irrua, was given an award by the Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftsmen, NAEC, Edo state Chapter, for championing Technical and Vocational Education in Edo state.

Presenting the award, Dr. Aikore, a Board member, Edo State Board for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (EDOBTVET) said; "... On behalf of the Nigerian Association of Engineering craftsman Edo state Chapter, I am presenting this award to you in recognition of your outstanding support for Youth Engineering Empowerment during the career talk organized by NAEC at Usugbenu Technical College, Irrua".

Receiving the award on behalf of Esan central local government chairman, who was on an official assignment out of the local government, the local government Council Secretary, Hon. Pastor Davis Oigbochie, thanked the Nigerian Association of Engineering craftsman for their initiative in tutoring the younger generation, saying; "...this career talk, will go a long way in a redirecting and re focusing our youths to ensuring a brighter future".


"...the Chairman is unavoidably absent, he really wanted to be physically present here today, but he had to travel out of town to attend to a very crucial official matter".


The Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, in his goodwill message to the Association, wrote: "The acquisition of technical/vocational skills is one sure way to guarantee livelihood for our children because, gone are the days when a school lever look up to the government for employment; rather, the informal sectors has become the greatest employers of labour."


"With today's career talk it is my strong belief that the 'take home' by our children and all present will go a long way in shaping the future of our children hence create a future where what is taught and learned today, can guarantee a future of self-reliance hence build a nation that we can all be proud of".
