THE LEGEND OF BENDEL STATE

AMBROSE ALLI, THE LEGEND OF BENDEL STATE

Do you remember this Legend of Bendel state?

He is Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, the Ezomo of Ekpoma. He was Governor of Bendel state (now Edo and Delta states) from October 1979 - October 1983.

He was arrested and brutalized by Buhari's illegal military government and then sentenced to prison for developing Bendel State and that HE DECIDED TO PUSH FOR RESOURCE CONTROL and creation of additional LGAs for Edo and Delta States at the time when it was forbidden to talk about the subject. Till date he is still officially a felon with successive governments looking the other way round when it comes to matters of Alli who founded Bendel state University, Ekpoma,BENSU, that later became Edo state University, EDSU,and now named after him as Ambrose Alli University, AAU.

Professor Ambrose Alli, also founded the Delta state University, Delsu, as it is an offshoot from BENSU. Ekiadolor College of Education, and about 200 institutions across Edo and Delta States, then Bendel state.

I need not mention Professor Ambrose Alli's achievements in infrastructural development, Agriculture, Health care....in just 4 years of his being the governor of Bendel state. The evidence of his achievements are still there till date.

This month, September 22, it would be 25 Years after his death and on that same day, Ambrose Alli would have been 85 years old. He died on his birthday at 60 years old.

I raise this Post in Tribute to Alli and to urge Edo and Delta States Government to do something to honour the memory of this man who gave his life for the love of his people. And on that day, I urge the Edo State and Delta State governments to ensure that the cloak of FELON is removed from the head of this man who is one of the best governors that have governed Nigeria.

CONTINUE TO REST IN PEACE LEGEND

Show your Solidarity to this Legend by LIKING & SHARING this post in both Edo and Delta States forums until it gets the desired attention of the governments and the people of these states and they do something.

It is well!
