Drop your NASS ambitions, prepare for governorship….Ojomon tells Uromi Politicians
By: Oriaifoh Godwins
Prince Michael Ojomon, Former National Secretary to Uromi Community Association and a retired Teacher, has called on political leaders as well as politicians in Uromi, the headquarters of Esan North East local government area of Edo state to jettison the idea of contesting for any position at the National Assembly, like the Senatorial or House of Representatives, as the position of the Governor of Edo state, which is clearly the turn of an Esan man to occupy is ahead and the politicians and people of Uromi across the political divide, should rather begin to prepare for it now.
Prince Ojomon who said, he is not in support of Hon. Mike Onolememen, or Rt. Hon. Friday Itulah contesting for the position of the Senator of Edo central, added that, even if Okpebholo has had their turn of eight years, in occupying the position of the Senator, he will rather advice that Uromi should allow the other axis of Agbazilo to contest for the senatorial position so that when the time comes, it will be an all Uromi affair.
Reacting to the possibility of some persons in Okpebholo also showing interest in the gubernatorial race when the time comes, he said for equity and fair share, Okpebholo shouldn’t allow the Agbazilo axis of Esanland to have the position of the governor this time, as Okpebholo already occupied the position twice when Professor Ambrose Alli was the governor and when Professor Osunbor was the governor.
Prince Ojomon also advised that any one from Uromi that is currently contesting for the position to represent Esan North east/Esan south east at the House of Representatives, should also step down to allow those from the other parts of Agbazilo to contest for the position. He said; “…all those aspirants from Uromi, that are jostling to contest for the Senate and House of Representatives positions, should rather all come together and form a very strong force to support a governorship candidate when the time comes….’
